General I wonder...

nice one can't wait to see one of those in the flesh along side a grande abarth maybe

we all know what the morons at top gear think of diesel cars so it's any wonder james gave it a not so good review

when they will wake up to the technology and engineering that goes into diesel car these days i don't know

also the fact he already has a panda does not help things

Mr May has fallen victim to having his celebrity status go to his head. He used to counteract the mighty Clarkson ego very well but he's quickly becoming one of the most irritating presenters of all time because of the noticeable change. They should replace him with Sabine Schmidt the German girl who drove the Ford Transit around the Nrburgring. (y)

Regarding the ignorance of diesel car technology, Top Gear, and all who sail in her, should embrace the fact that the most entertaining and emotional feature shown on the programme to date was when all three raced a 'diesel' BMW 330d in a 24 hour LeMans style race at Silverstone. Even 'the not so mighty' Clarkson shed a few tears!

So, this award winning TV great is gradually disappearing up it's own waste disposal orifice, 'but' remember that the perception of diesels is shared by a frowning and prejudgemental general public too. It's only until you drive one on a daily basis that you realise petrol units are on the way to becoming inferior.

Anyway, the 500 SS Abarth is a petrol and I bet it's gonna sound great!!

I know its a homologation of images and insider info but am I alone in thinkig it looks like a parts bin special? It doesnt look... well it doesnt look "factory produced". I suppose many will like it for that very reason but at the cost I would want my car to look, finished, complete, hard to explain really.

Doesn't quite cut it as well as the Abarth GP IMO. Maybe it will look better in the metal?

something like this?

the front bumper is hideous, bit like the ones chavs stick on their novas:( all it needs is wider arches and wheels and a fancy paint job, thats a proper looking abarth.

Criticism gracefully accepted nuovapanda. However, to strengthen your prerequisite to comment on style issues in the future, might I suggest you remove the picture of your own car from your details.:)

Sorry NuovaPanda i have to disagree with you! I think the 500 SS Abarth thingy looks hot as, isnt the whole point of the Abarth to have that different look to the standard car.
I am still to see a standard 500 in the flesh, when i see the pic with the guy in it, it suprises me how big they are compared to the old 500....Ahhh.....*Stop dreamin Si*.......
Cant wait to see one of them!
