I received a very nice and very thick hardback book on the 500 from Fiat UK today in the post and wrapped up in Xmas wrapping paper which was a nice touch. It has a card with it saying "Thank you for ordering your new Fiat 500, we hope you will enjoy the enclosed whilst we are building your car for you. Best wishes from Fiat UK". It's very good quality with lots of photo's of the original 500, info on the development of both cars and loads of photo's and design sketches showing how the new model took shape from the design stage, through the Trepiuno concept to the final production version. Has anyone else received their copy?

Somehow I seam to have missed out on this one.

My dealer says the people who received the book were those who were in the first 500 to place an order for the car.

If that's true (which I doubt) I wonder if it means those of us who received the book will get our cars at launch...... I'm not holding my breath

You wont be getting your car at launch, unless you are buying one of the dealers demo models. First order deliveries are for March.

I'm not really bothered to be honest as that's only a 5 or 6 week delay and I only bought the car as a bit of fun. I'm more annoyed about not being able to get Funk white and the sky dome than a slight hiccup in delivery. Waiting a few extra weeks is a lot less annoying than not getting options you want IMHO. I'm just amazed at the apparent poor level of communication of information from Fiat to their dealers though.

You are right, dealers seem to be not getting much info. I wanted Funk White too but didnt want to wait a year or more to get it. Am changing from a Seat Leon FR, so this will be smaller and less powerful but will still be nice to look at, cheap to run and am sure I will have a lot of fun with it.

It must be an Italian thing as I have another new model Italian car on order and have been given the run around on that too. The latest is that because I ordered it in silver it will be delayed by up to 10 weeks!
