Oh yeah, that's the one, then blew best part of £300 on chrome plated plastic!!!!!
All the chromy bits, I belive they are just chrome plated plastic, although I am prepared to be corrected.
Yes it's all just chrome plated plastic! Pick up an A bar and you might puke. Your head thinks it's going to be pretty solid, yet it weighs less than an empty box of tissues!
Oh and I wouldn't be suprised if it's just plastic covered in chrome effect paint!

Ordered mine on Sunday! woohoo! Apparently the Fiat garage in Milton Keynes have only been allocated 67 orders of them for the whole year and I'm order number 23! Mine's also Pasodoble Red, 1.4 Sport, extras: chrome kit and side skirt with 500 badge.
The red seems popular on here but the saleman said he's mostly sold white ones.

Be thankful the chromes plastic... modern chrome is very poor quality and starts to rust very quickly when on metal. My Vespa has plastic chrome and after six years has just started to tarnish, sort of gone spotty but you only notice close up. I have known Italian chromed metal go rusty in weeks from new. Something about the proccess being highly toxic and part of it is now banned, hence the quick rust.
I've already noticed the chrome exhaust going rusty on a demonstrator. Can anything be done to protect it?
doubtful, as I said its modern chrome... all you can realistically do is keep it clean and maybe use car wax on it to help protect against salt. As a footnote, on the 12 year old Toyota I recently sold, complete with original exhaust system were near perfect chrome tailpipes...
So, we have wheelcaps that the paint peels off and now exhausts that go rusty in a few weeks... looks like an uphill stuggle to keep the 500 looking fresh then
