So the diagnostics test that was ran on my vehicle said I need to replace the engine coolant temperature and thermostat. I know where the thermostat housing assembly is but can’t find any information on where the engine coolant temperature sensor could be located. Any help is appreciated!

Yes it is. The electrical connection on the thermostat is the sensor.
1.2 Fiat 500. 2012. Thought it may be relevant to someone. Just had an engine warning and temperature sensor 1 fault light that wouldnt reset. Replaced the earth strap from tthe body to the engine under the battery box and clutch slave cylinder. It then reset so I didn't need to replace the temperature sensor. Also made sure the battery terminals were solidly attached. Also had an occasional issue with starter turning over which would then go away after a second turn of the key. Definitely now reset the engine and temperature fault lights and will see if the starter remains a problem.
Old strap was not fully seperated. About half the strands had broken off with some corrosion.
