Just came across a very interesting video on you tube featuring a presentation about the fiat 500 at the recent Chicago motor show. The presenter advises that from the second quarter of 2018 all 500 models will feature a 1.4 turbo charged engine producing 135 bhp and will feature upgraded brakes and suspension, spoiler, and rear camera.

The turbo engine will be the only one available in all 500s irrespective of the car model.

The body shape of the car in the video appears to be identical to the current abarth 500. The presenter goes on to say that the abarth 500 range continues but that the minimum bhp will be 160.

This presentation would appear to be only relevant to the USA but hopefully we might get a similar upgrade in the uk.

Anyone heard any rumours?

USA cars have less in common with with EU500's than one might think.

Sounds like they're dropping the NA MA engines and just going all turbo. The 'Turbo' model in the USA is the sweet spot in the range.

Zero baring for EU cars one would think, at least until the all new 500 'global' eventually comes out.

Yes, this has no relevance as far as Europe is concerned. I've edited the thread title and moved it to the 500 (USA) section where it properly belongs.
