I have a 2012 Fiat 500 Sport with auto temp control. The ambient temp. sensor has developed an issue where it reads around normal when i get in the car , but as soon as the key is turned it quickly drops 30 degrees below the actual temp. Occasionally while driving it will "flutter" up to the correct temp.
but almost immediately drops back down. The big issue of course is that the air conditioning won't work properly, and it sometimes causes the check engine light to come on.
Has anyone heard of this? It did start after the rear main seal was replaced, so the car had been torn apart. Does this seem like a computer or sensor problem ? I hate to hang parts not knowing. It is out of warranty
