I have only had my 2013 500 pop for a few months but i just wondered if anyone else has experienced a slight dragging brake pad sound from the rear. I changed the pads even though the old ones looked OK but no difference. How bad are the factory calipers for going bad? Any advice/help would be appreciated. Gary

Hi Gary, and welcome to FF, :)

the US version varies from the EURO one in so many details.. I cannot say for sure..,:eek:

but this is a common issue on the similar spec panda's;

Read this post for more information on this common issue. Models with disc brakes at the rear are even more likely to experience this sort of thing.

I'm starting to wonder whether the rotors may be warped as the ride seems bumpy at times

Easy enough to check with a dial gauge.

I'm not familiar with the parking brake arrangement on US spec cars, but that'd be another thing to consider.

So I found out my rear tires were pretty badly cupped. Got new tires and the noise seems to have been fixed but the ride does seem a little bumpy at times, anyone had this too and if so have you had to change shocks (as it can cause cupping also)

Any advise on which shocks to get? Brands/models

Depends what you can get over there, the rears not fitted by me are KYB excel which I believe are a budget brand, the fronts I've just done I used Sachs with Bilstein springs, Monroe, also make quality shocks here, the reason for replacement was not ride quality but more the fact they had rusted so badly that oil was leaking from one of them, so proper job is to change almost everything, I've just done a how to for the fronts the rears are very easy t replace(shocks) but be careful to not shear off the bolts! as I know to my cost.
You can see the leaking oil on the center of the old shock
