I have a 2015 500 Sport and use an iPhone 6 that I have paired with my Blue & Me system.

About 2 weeks after I got the car, the MAIN Button stopped working for me and I could no longer access my phone, calls, or anything using the main button. However, I could use all of the functions through the voice feature.

At the same time that the main button quit working, the display screen stopped showing me any phone information, when someone calls instead of showing the number or anything it just shows a dimmed image of the vehicle and the tire pressures.

I took it to my dealership and they "reset" Blue & Me and I had to re-pair the Blue & Me. Then it worked fine for another 2-3 weeks and now it has done it again. The same exact problem.

This is only the phone and menu functions. The Bluetooth music works fine and the screen shows the media player icon when it's playing, which is what it showed before the main button stopped working.

Taking the car back to the dealership is such a hassle. Does anyone know how to either fix this problem without taking the car to the dealer, or how to avoid this problem in the future? On other threads people talk about updating the software, but I have no idea how to do that... any advice on how to do that too?

Thanks.

i had this issue lots of times with my 2010 1.4 500, i hate this B&M system, when it works its OK, but when the problems starts its frustrating.
so i got mad and replaced the head unit with the Pioneer 9550BT where you get bluetooth / aux / usb.
the Blue & Me could have been nice if worked properly, but man i had enough if this crappy system.
you are not the only one who complains about it

BTW - every time it happened to me i took out the - cable from the battery, waited 10-15 minutes and connected it again, most of the times this will fix the problem, but it will return again and if you dont know how to do that so take it to the dealership again (its probably what they did last time)

This is a known issue on 2015 Fiat 500s with the digital cluster (at least for USA Market, dunno about EU). Main Menu button quits, and incoming call ID does not display on the cluster. Actually, the menu is working, it just doesn't display, so you can't see that it is working!

Official fix from Fiat is to flash a new Blue&Me update which has to be done at the dealer (the EU update tool does not work for USA). However, the fix does not .. actually.. fix anything. It only seems to work temporarily because it reboots the computer.

The only way to "fix" it yourself is basically to reboot the computer, which is also a temporary fix but avoids going to the dealer. Sometimes you can do this by pulling the negative battery terminal but this doesn't always work. The only reliable way is with an Android phone, Bluetooth OBD adapter and Yellow CANBus cable, along with either AlfaOBD or MultiECUScan. You have to then select "restart convergence" if I remember correctly. But you're going to invest money in that equipment, which if you're not technically inclined, you wouldn't really use any other way.
