Thinking of getting a Fiat 500...I have questions

If maintained according to the proper servicing schedule and not driven hard, a 500 could easily run well for 15 years or so, especially if garaged or run in a drier climate where significant corrosion is less likely to develop. The car is based on a tried and tested platform and comes with decent engines that have a good reliability record. In theory, any car could last for several decades if the owner is prepared to pay for any repairs required (assuming parts remain available) no matter what the cost. It's a fine small car with no major problem areas - the few problems that may occur are straightforward (and rarely costly) to sort out.

It will last 15 years at least with a lot of abuse...!!
With some TLC it will last forever..., especially in a dry climate like most parts of the USA.
It is not uncommon to see cars from the sixties and seventies in everyday use overthere...and they were build to last only a couple of years, with no rustproofing whatsoever etc....
Parts shouldn't be a problem in the (far) future, as the new 500 is almost as popular as the old 500, so a lot of aftermarket parts will be available, even when the factory stops producing the car...

Just got the Fiat 500c Lounge convertible for my wife. saftey was an issue for me but after driving it for the weekend I did not feel as if it was unsafe even passing tractor trailers on the interstate. It has a surprisingly solid feel similar to the Cooper mini. As long as long term maintenance its too early to tell. Good luck
