My 500(USA) now has over 33,000 miles and the dealer says we need to change the spark plugs. And of course the dealer wants a bunch of money to do it for us! I'm wondering if this is something we can do ourselves. Does anyone know HOW TO  ??

Easy enough. Buy a set of new plugs. Ask the motor factor for a socket or wrench to fit them. Pull the leads off the old plugs (pull by the hood thing nearest the plug, rather than the cable itself) one at a time, screw in the new plug by hand until it takes up the thread, pop on the wrench, gently screw in the plug until it bottoms, then an extra 1/8 of a turn. Pop the lead back on, repeat.

Do it one plug at a time so you don't get the leads in the wrong order.

Alternatively, any back street garage will be happy to do it and show you how.

Are you interested in keeping the warranty on your 500 ?
It might be different in the U.S. but over here the service parts need to be installed by a VAT registered gargage as per the service schedule. Some here are changing their spark plugs earlier than planned due to ethanol in the petrol which affects them.
Are you using standard NGK spark plugs or the Iridium ones ?
