Which one do I remove?

Blue&Me is acting up, my next/previous song and my menu(answer) buttons dont work and I hear that I need to remove the negative battery terminal for 10 minutes and then it'll work fine again..

I have 3 ground wires connected to the battery.. one is for the electronic rust protection and could I just disconnect the other 2 or would I have issues?

electronic rust protection? not seen that before....

if you look at your battery you will see the start stop Node with 2 thin wires coming off it along the bit of copper strip there is a black cap with a red tag

press in the tag and pull off the pillar

Unless the US spec is a different arrangement that pic is from my Evo but sisters 500 uses the same set up

Yeah electronic rust protection... 10 years on the car, some sort of electromagnetic thing..

So the short black wire is the one farthest away from me when looking at the battery.. and the last image is the one closest to me, which is big and thick and goes down the front of the car... the middle one is for the rust protection.. as you can see in the second image

I have all that in the car :) its only a week and 2 days old now lol

Thats a totally different lay out to the UK spec cars i'd just take the battery clamp off totally

(just check you have the radio security pin number before you do) ((if you need it))
On the subject of disconnecting the battery.... I need to replace the (main 12v) battery on my Panda 100 HP, is it true that I need a pin number (for the engine??) before I do this and/or that I need to reprogramme my keyfob? My Barchetta has a red key arrangement - new Fiats (thankfully) seem to have done away with this cumbersome system but apparently to have been replaced by something equally fiddly? Any assistance appreciated.

Newbie here. May I ask, what is the radio code used for? I have a Fiiat 500 Sport.

Each time constant power is cut from the radio as in when the car battery is disconnected or the radio removed, you will have the radio screen ask for a numerical code when power is reconnected to it.
It is to deter theft of the radio as it won't work until you type the code in.

Oh, and welcome to the forum btw!! :)

not sure the radio code needs to be entered every time sisters had the flashing mileage syndrome so pulled the neg terminal off and it didnt need recoding after....

If its anything like the GP the headunit is coded to the body computer so the code only needs to be entered if its fitted to a different car or the body computer is replaced...
