I'm guessing the US market will be very different to that in the UK. Different specs, options and no doubt different trim level names as well. I can imagine on the US market, the little 500 would come with quite a lot of kit as standard anyway, alloys and air con i reckon will be standard, but I'm only guessing. I know there will be an Abarth version with 170 BHP as standard, if performance is a priority, then that's probably the one to go for!

Sorry i can't be more helpful.

I dont think they have released a Date for the Abarth 500 stateside yet, which is a shame because i think it would be just as popular as in the UK.

Im sure you are aware but the names are an indication of trim level.
As far as i am aware in the UK it go's as follows. Somebody please correct me if im wrong.

Pop is the base level which comes with 15" Steel wheels, Radio MP3 Player and no Air con (i doubt they will have no aircon models in the USA)

Lounge is the next level which comes with 15" Alloys, Blue & Me, Air Con, Chrome Detailing and Chrome Exhaust tip, Leather Steering wheel and Audio Controls.

The Sport is the Highest normal level which has all of the above with Sportier wheels and body Kit.

Not really. Lounge and sport are identically priced alternatives in the UK.

They have different alloy wheel designs (but the same size) and different seat trims. The main difference however is a very subtle body kit and tinted rear windows and rear screen on the Sport, whereas the Lounge gets a big fixed glass roof.

Personally I think the glass roof is great - headroom is still fine and I'm 6 foot- and preferable to the Sport's options (but plenty will disagree as they are entitled to).

However, previous posters are spot on to say that the specs will probably be completely different for y'all over there...

appreciate there are differences in alloy wheel design, but all are 15" so any upgrades/swaps are the same costs irrespective of model.

If i read it right you basically sacrifice tints, spoiler and fogs on the Sport for a glass roof , chrome kit and split rear seats on a Lounge.

Chrome kit & sun roof is an option for the Sport model too.

I've got a 1.4 Sport and that has Split rear seats :)

Split fold seats are only standard on the lounge and also cars with leather interior, if you do have it it'll be an error.

I agree with Draigflag, the specs will be different in the UK so I'd wait for the specs to come out and then compare

If its anything like Australia, then the pop is the 1.2 engine with the bare essentials, the lounge has the 1.4 with the glass roof and climate control, and the sport has no glass roof and no climate control but has the sportier suspension and trim level. or something like that. iirc!

No doubt about your explanation but I think the range of Pop,LAUNGE AND Sport differ from country side so as their cost .

Pop, sport then lounge as far as trim levels in that order. All have standard air con, power windows, mirrors, locks. I have a sport. Sport model has red brake calipers, sport tuned suspension. Geared for the American market.. Cup holders, glove box, fuel tank adjustments, heavier over here - a lot more I cud write but my new iPad is a pain in the ar$$ to learn when I'm tired (n) Im loving it

I wonder why Sport comes only with dark interior.
What if somebody wants beige interior with the Sport?
