Re: Replace Cabin/Pollen Filter on 500L Trekking

We only bought this car in July and not sure the previous owner ever had the filter changed as was quite clogged with dirt! When changing I removed the left and right clips from the sides of the glove box but didn't notice the top right one that is connected using a very thin cable/string and it came undone and the glove box fell all the way down and everything fell out! I'm hoping that someone knows what the purpose of the string is as I can't see what it was connected to behind the glove box so can't reconnect it! Am guessing it's just to stop the glove box falling all the way down when you remove the left and right main clips.

The string clips into a small hole on the held hand side of the gearbox
It's a *** to get back in unless you have very thin finger's

Re: Replace Cabin/Pollen Filter on 500L Trekking

Thanks Chris. So it has no real purpose apart from stopping the glove box falling all of the way down if you remove the side stops/connectors? If so I will just leave it as at the moment it's connected to the side of the glove box still but not connected at the other end to wherever it connects behind the glove box.
