Technical Do you seam weld the new floorpans to the central part of the old floor?

Do you seam weld those pointed by the arrows? These areas are kind of double skinned with old paint and rust in between hence awkward to weld...I've managed to weld half of the length but the welds look ugly.

I remember doing a few short sections near the back part...a matter of centimetres, which seemed to need sealing with a complete weld. But mostly I put in some very strong and regular plug welds.
