Does anyone know how to stop the roof handle securing pin from sliding out?
Should it have something securing it at one end or is it just held in place by friction?

The factory pin is peened in the style of a rivet.

A ball pein hammer should suffice or a suitable sized drift/punch, it only needs very slightly peeling over. To remove you would need to drill the peeled edge out.

Do you know what the right tool for peening this is?
And how is it removed once peened?

The factory would have had a purpose-made hand-tool to achieve such a neat job. It would hav to be ground off for removal. If you wanted a neat and professional job you might find a grip-washer such as those which are sometimes used to retain the badges on the car..the things that you push on and which won't then ever pull off.

Thanks for this. There are a few tools I’ve found like Rivet Squeezers and Rivet Punches but I think the grip washer is the solution I’ll go with.
