I have recently purchased a Weber 30 DGF 1/254 with a few linkage arms missing.
The blue one is straight forward for me to make a replacement for, but the green one is a little more tricky since it is sprung.
have not seen a fully working one up close to understand how to replicate it. Can anyone send me some photos of this area so I can figure out how to replace it?

Thanks.

If you put "Weber 30DGF 1/254" into your lap-top a number of sites will pop up. Both the "Axel Gerstl" and "Old Timer" sites have a selection of pictures (especially the 'Old-Timer' site) of this particular carb which might be of help to you. Try to lay your hands on a '126 BIS' w/shop manual--I believe this carb was used on that model.

"Webcon" have a few parts for the DGF, including a "secondary throttle shaft"--part number:-6128010100.

I have spoken with Webcon who believe this carb was a late model Panda 30. I'll try a further image search and see what comes up.
I haven't looked at their site for replacement parts though. I'll have a further look into that.

If you get desperate I have a Panda head on an engine... the carb has not been fitted in case it falls over and gets damaged...
I can send pictures or measurements..

Or even trust you with the linkages or full carb...

Need a bit of notice as it is in storage....

That's a very kind offer! I would benefit from seeing one in person, although It might be a while before travelling and visits are allowed.

Thanks Ian,
The pictures are great and i'm now one step closer. The choke cable not being connected confirmed my suspicion that the sprung arm sets the clockwise end position for the choke lever.

I presume that when the choke is fully engaged (counter-clockwise) the sprung arm pushes up and fully closes the top butterfly valve, and that the spring on the arm is there for compliance.

That being the case, can you help me out with the dimensions A and B in the image below?

Also, on my carb, the diaphragm arm is not connected to anything. Is that correct?

Many thanks,
Michael

Hi Michael, I'll sort some more pics with the throttle link removed and measure the distances. I'll show you before and after choke operation too. The diaphram or dashpot is connected at the upper end to a link that seems to be missing from your carb, again I'll get more pics as soon as.
Ian.

Thanks Ian,
I appreciate all the help! It's not a complicated thing to fix, but it's very difficult when you don't know whats missing!

Cheers.

Hi Michael, sorry for the delay. Please find 12 pics showing all the linkage - choke off and choke on. The dimensions are A 63.00mm choke off and 27.11mm choke on. B 58.44mm choke off, there is very little difference with the choke on, the link moves to allow the second venturi to open earlier. The dashpot arm acts as a balance against the injector pump, the pics should show how. If you need any more let me know (y)(y)(y)(y)
Ian.

Just a thought Michael, I have a parts list for the 30 DGS fitted to a citroen. The carbs are similar - sorry it's in French. Also I have some 20 more pics that were used during a carb service and show a complete strip. The thread '30DGF service' should still be on the forum, let me know anyway. (y)(y)(y)

Hi Ian,
Thanks for taking the time to photograph and measure the parts. it is a big help, particularly the sprung arm activating the dashpot. I may have to use a bit of poetic license while replacing the plastic items though!
I'll make some 3d printed parts first to check the fit before making some metal ones.

Funny you should mention the 30DGS carb. I thought that would be a better fit fotr the 500 since there is no return outlet. I managed to source a 30 DGF exploded diagram if it's of any use. The parts are mostly identical.

Thanks again,

updates will be posted!
