I have generally remained fairly sane during this lockdown but I may have tipped over the edge yesterday.
They are not wired up and I fear my dynamo may not be grunty enough to run them anyway. They are old Lucas SLR700s but I wonder if they can be converted to LED and whether that would put less strain on the dynamo?

And they might be too big for the car. I do quite the safari look though:D

I've installed LED headlight bulbs (thread as below) and they have a significant reduction in current draw. I too have a dynamo on my car. So I'm happy with the result. So yes, they will reduce the load but if you are running both spots and your normal headlight, I suspect the dynamo will struggle even with LEDS fitted to both.

I like it too; and they are a big but so what.:D. I found I needed to fit small stays to stop mine wobbling, even resting on the "bull-bar". Once I fitted them I didn't need the bar.

thanks. I'll look into the LED thing further. As I'm unlikely to run them for extended periods I wonder if it would be feasible to run them directly off the battery?

Peter - obviously I haven't driven it with the spots yet but I will look out for the wobble. They seem rock solid but a road test will likely reveal the need for further stability I'm sure. Glad you like them. You can actually clearly see them from the drivers seat:)
