Afternoon all

After deciding to get the strip of roof metal rubbed down and painted where the sunroof joins, my pal could not for the life of him remove it. Reckons there was some form of glue used. Any one aware if a special glue would have been used? 20200403_114902.jpeg

Silly question---is your pal aware that the sun-roof 'hold-down' strip is bolted down? Look at the roof (from inside the car) and at the front of the steel panel, just under that 'hold-down' strip there are a number of holes in the metal work---these are to allow access to the nuts that are on the studs attached to the 'hold-down'strip. The ends of the strip (only viewable with the sun-roof open) are either rivetted down or held down with a self-tapping screw. If you can, when you refit the strip. have riv-nuts put into the roof and hold the strip down with 'button-head' allen-bolts (aka--cap-heads).
