that is very cool!
New Zealand has one genuine 695SS. As 500s were being assembled here the importers/assemblers, Torino Motors, brought in all the parts and assembled one to test the market. It was priced the same as a Mini Cooper and the queue of buyers was short - only one in fact. It apparently fell off a transporter early in its life and has had a hard racing life. It is now local to me and being restored. I believe the young chap who now owns it paid $15000 (about 6500 pounds) about two years ago

Nice to see one that actually looks genuine in many respects...or maybe it's made to look that way; I would never know.

https://it.motor1.com/news/394676/abarth-695-ss-1966-asta-record-sothebys/

When I started look at buying a 500 I wanted an Original Abarth
I read the books, looked at the pictures and was told...
It will be a fake... originals are so hard to find and you will not know till after you have brought it....
There are so few people who can actually tell an original...
There was a big discussion about one on BAT it had paperwork etc that could be traced..
Unfortunately it could also be traced to the Abarth museum in Germany...

So I brought a Jolly and was told by people in Italy "it's a fake"... luckily they provided me with the name of someone in the UK who would be able to verify if it was or no... luckily I had brought the car from him.. so all was good.

The same guy is also an expert on Abarths... unfortunately moved out of cars and into collectable toys..... anyone know of Simon Lyons?

Bloody Facebook..I should learn Italian!:D

Maybe it was a T.I.T.-job..."Sothesbys" sound like the same setup who sell genuine "Rollex" watches.;)

At that price Sean's car looks like a steal. ;)

I have seen a few "Genuines" sell for £50k+
but you see £30k cars never sell.. I think those that really want one would have them checked out...

I think Sean undervalues his work...
you just have to look at the tat sold on Fleabay and by dealers for considerably more...
