After making a flippant and negative comment about the Accuspark conversion kit  I owe it to them and the Forum to acknowledge that they do seem to offer an excellent and economical product and to say that they certainly provide a lot of technical support and backup, which is something that is very badly lacking in the case of the 123 electronic distributor manufacturer.

I haven't had any experience of these kits so maybe someone who does have experience will tell us a bit more about that. :)

Without being negative I have had issues with Accu-spark over some VW components…………

After a few emails and several wrong parts sent the emails quickly spiralled downwards from their end and they became rather personnel. In the end I just binned it and bought Petronix kit that fitted straight in and ran like a dream...…...I'm sure on the masses they could be ok as I know a few in the VW scene that run their kit but I also know a few that have had problems also...………I'll leave it at that, not going to 'AIR' my laundry on the forum...…….

We have fitted a Powerspark kit, same principle to the Accuspark, to our 500 and has made a massive improvement to pickup and smoothness over our points/condenser.
Had had enough of varying condenser quality.
We have only done 200km at the moment and all is well. We

I would say that they both come from the same manufacturer but just labelled up as different companies. They look identical and indeed have the same hologram sticker on them but sporting the different company name, far too ironic for me......

Maybe I’m just getting cynical in my old age....

I thought they were the same thing......?.
The people I spoke to were pretty helpful and it works, so I’m happy.

I always fit electronic ignition to any classic car . I have a 1969 Mini and they were notorious for faulty points and condensers . Cheap fix and can be hidden so looks standard .

Accuspark very good until you put too much voltage in. Basically they get hot, fry up and then won’t work for 10 mins until they cool off . Lots of start stop motoring??????

I gave up and reverted to old style points because my 500D insists on delivering 15v plus even with a new control box . Those with greater knowledge have told me that this is a feature not a fault on early 500’s.

Ok in response to past experience and everyone deserves a second chance.......after a poor tick over and set up I’ve bit the bullit and bought a set.......early indications show that the timing has stopped jumping so timing is now spot on and a quick drive shows a better drive and response however I still have the blip on first acceleration....
