General Weekend Picture thread!

This goes back a few years---the 'Spitfire Cafe', just down the road from the airfield, used to be where the bike people met, and the road along the front of the airfield was a 'chicken-run'. Sadly, the trees along that route collected more than their fair share of bikes and riders (as well as a couple of Police "Daimler Darts" who were trying to chase the bikes). There also used be a very good pub, on the same side of the road as the airfiels (coming from the Bromley direction)called, if I remember correctly, "The Cricketers" or "The Cricketers Arms". Is it still there? The beauty of that pub was the big Inglenook fireplace---in the winter you could come into the pub, sit alongside the fire until you warmed up, and then go into the body of the pub and let somebody else warm up--good days!

Hi Tom, I don't remember a pub by that name. I suspect it's changed an awful lot since when you last visited. The Airport and road infra etc.

If people do visit the area, there is the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar. Well worth a visit! You have to book a tour or you can sit in a Spit (charagble) and if you are really flush, you can pay for Spitfire flights (my dream)

Cheers

The Kings Arms Tom. Still there.

Trip out to scout industrial sites for photo shoot locales.

That reversing light is humongous! Couldn’t you find something a little more subtle.:D I bet anyone behind you gets their eyeballs burnt out!

....it's either that or go in front of me and I'll burn out their eyeballs in any case. :D

I've seen a few "subtle" modifications on here in my time and they are usually of the finest bling. I would call that reversing light "humble" and "self-effacing"...just like me :D

You know there are such things as LED’s these days. You don’t have to use candles anymore.:nerner: Do you have nip out and light it before you select reverse?:D

If I used any of those newfangled leeds or whatever you call them, I would need an electrishan to wire it all up....and you know the extortionate rate those chancers charge.:D

You didn't mock mention the fog/high level stop light. :D I'm thinking it's a bit understated, maybe this one which was left on the pavement after they re-cobbled our street back in 1969 would be more fitting?:D

Yes I must admit I missed that and clearly it doesn’t fit in with the rest of the exaggerated mods.:D

I reckon a couple of those road work lamps hanging off the rear bumper would look much better. Crikey I have just googled them have you seen how much they go for on eBay!

I didn’t get photos of them all but here are some from a recent trip to Salina, Italy.

it's early Spring here in NZ but we had a wicked frost over night in Napier. However, what a beautiful day it turned into. I got Barry out and gave him a coat of wax (I'll make the turd polishing jokes thank you) and then a drive to the beach
