Hi Fiat Forum

I've been out for a quick blast in my 500R today and I noticed that every now and again my oil pressure light would blink on and off. This mainly happened when I went round a corner. It only happened a couple of times, but I haven't noticed before. I dipped the oil before I set off and there is plenty in there.

Is this something to worry about? Any suggestion, advice or ideas would be very much appreciated.

The first thing that I would check isthe electrical connection to the oil-pressure sensor in the side of the block. If in doubt, crimp a new connector onto the wire, there is normally enough spare length of wire to enable you to do this. If that doesn't sort the problem, try a new sender unit. Try these 2 things first.

Usually when the oil pressure drops when going round a corner it is low oil level that causes it. If you have been say on the motorway at speed Ha Ha
it could be oil hasn't returned to the sump fast enough. Try and make sure your oil level is always at the top mark or slightly over.

I had the same issue and changing the pressure sender fixed the problem.
