General Multipla

It is a very rare car. Even in this condition in Italy the asking price is between 8000 to 10000 euro. Parts are very easy to find in Italy. The engine looks original. Restored its value 35000 to 40000 euro. Maybe more

Hi Folks

What do we think of this:

Engine looks a little worn? What's it worth?

Tim

Nice find Tim, I’d say it needs a good polish and maybe vacuum the inside out!  Might also need a set of plugs and an oil change, oh and some puff in the tyres. (y)

Seriously though the metalwork looks to be in fair order and the car looks to be fairly complete, along with a load of bits inside. They make serious money in the USA and perhaps a little less here. Have any others sold recently to give an idea of value is NZ?

At that sort of price, well worth a punt! They are very versatile vehicles. In Italy they were used as taxis. My parents had one many years ago, and as secretary to the "Met Police Motor Club" Fiat asked him to help them get them allowed to be used as taxis in the UK, but sadly to no avail.
Although this version is listed as having the original 600 engine, don't forget, the 850 (and therefore 903cc) engine can be fitted, which gives a fair performance enhancement---all you have to do is run the 850/903 engine backwards (not difficult).
Abarth used the vehicles as "servicio" vehicles, complete with Abarth enhancements---painted as a Servicio vehicle, with a tuned engine, front discs and the engine cover raised, you would have a real cracker of a vehicle.

one sold here (NZ too) late last year. It was in better shape but needed restoration. It fetched $38500 from memory, or around 23000euros.

There is also a very tidy 600 for sale here too. They don't seem to get the same love as the 500 but I think they look pretty cool https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=2015610592 it's around 7200euros
