I'm fitting a weber 26 IMB 10 to my ford sidevalve and have made an adaptor to bolt to the 100e inlet manifold and the weber. The car has a rod operating the existing carb on which the butterfly turns in a clockwise motion and the weber turns anti-clockwise. I can see the weber is operated by a cable but there is nowhere for the outer to be anchored like the choke cable does. I will need to make a bracket but cannot envisage where and how, a photo of the cable and carb would help.

I would suggest that you look at how a IMB carb (26 or 28) linkage works, get yourself a 'pivot yoke'(as would sit in top of the fan housing) and the relevant bits, take a cable to the 'yoke'and then a rod from the yoke to the carb---as per the arrangement on the Fiat. the only way to keep to a cable right up to the carb is to somehow fit the cable 'roller' (as per the DCOE carbs) onto the LMB butterfly shaft (not too difficult a task).

That's all very well and I thank you for the reply but to buy some parts when I don't know what they look like or if they will be useable in my situation is the reason I wanted a photo or schematic to browse. I'm hoping to adapt the rod operation I have to the weber with a pivot to reverse the direction from pushing up to pulling down. Alternatively cable operate it.

All sorted now, brazed a solex throttle link with ball for rod operation onto the webers cable operated link that rotates the butterfly and all works fine. Haven't fired it up yet as I'm waiting for a choke cable tomorrow. I would post a photo if I knew how.

Choke cable fitted, started engine runs smooth on idle. When opening the throttle it dies. I was told it would need a 1.30 main jet. I ordered one but in the meantime I drilled out the main jet to 1.5mm the smallest drill I have other than 1mm that is too small. Car starts and runs and been out a couple of times and it's running great. I need to get an air filter, I have the aluminium bend for the top of the carb.
