Hi I have an aluminium ID plate from my 500L about the size of a credit card with just B.S.AU 48:1965 stamped on it. Can you tell me where it should be mounted.
I think that plate is unique to the RHD UK version and is slightly deeper than the chassis plate so that it fits underneath it and is fastened to the bulkhead to the left of the fusebox using rubber rivets.
That ID plate shows that the car complied with the regulations governing Seat Belt Mounting Points introduced in 1965 - iirc, new regs were introduced in 1971.
