The other day, in a Facebook discussion I was heavily involved in, someone produced data (as it happens, misinterpreted information) from this book. I'd heard of it before but didn't want it. Now that I do want it it appears to be out of print. Has anyone got any sources or a copy for sale at non-inflated price?

This?

I’d bet you’ll find that book very interesting Peter and I’m quite sure it will fill many hours of your time. A fantastic resource, and one that will soon turn you into a geek regarding all things 500 :slayer:

What next? Possibly a parts book? :D

ohhh becoming geeky now....
It will be factory manuals such...then searching out Italian information and translating it next.

make sure you get the 2nd Edition..

Now who has my books...???

I see a lot of conjecture regarding my potential for geekiness. I find that the definitions for this term include the following which already describes me well:

"the quality of being unfashionable and socially inept".

In addition to that it can be taken to mean the following:

"the quality of being knowledgeable and obsessively interested in something, especially technology".

Surely the latter definition is already highly relevant in my case, particularly the "obsessed" part.:D I'm certainly not alone in either of the above and at a minimum, some of you are definitely on par with me.

What I really want the book for is so that I can find out the chronology of some of the original parts that I own and find out about the options available in engine components and trim.

Obviously I will be skimming through any sections that deal with the Fiat 500Novelty Nick-Nack and the 500Draft Design because these were all rendered irrelevant by the development of the 500Foremost Fulfillment, the 500Lock, Stock and Barrel and the 500Rare and Replete. :D

Postscript to this I have had an excellent and unbeatable offer of the book from a US. member of the Forum whom I hope will let me name him at some point and I look forward to becoming a formal member of the nit-picking set. :D

that was rather well thought out and actually did make me laugh....

It is quite a good book..

I do know that if you g to a certain Pizza place in Turin.. order a Chicken tikka Pizza and a cup of tea, a man will offer to get you reproductions of the Factory parts books...
you may have to donate a kidney though...

Look what I just got from a very nice man in the US.... Uaglio, who also goes by the much more prosaic name of Tim, very kindly and at significant expense to himself volunteered to send it to me. I am very grateful for this extremely positive example of our "Special Relationship" and it obviously speaks well of his personal character and, (I think), of the general calibre of the participants in this Forum.
I've quickly thumbed through it just now and see the potential for the pedantry on which I thrive working in both directions....in asserting how 500's ought to be set up and in finding slight inaccuracies in the "Bible". [emoji3]

I guess there will be a reduction in the "Highlights of the Highlands" photos for a while while you ingest the contents of "La Guida"...
But then there will be an increase in contributions along the lines of "Well the alloy tiglet lever was introduced in August 1968" ....

I do think a colour version would be useful, along the lines of the VW Splitscreen Van books that are produced...

There will be no reduction in Highland roamings unless the weather turns seriously bad.....then I'll scour the book for info.
Initial findings are that the F definitely scores the best internal door handles and the long-running angle of inclination debate may be concluded. [emoji3]
I've already spotted the odd F-related detail that I could add to the book but generally it's very well informed.

It is a great read, but I guess it would be impossible to cover everything across all models in such a small book...

What I like is the dual language which allows you to search more Italian sites more easily.

Hello all I've been looking for a copy too. Any leads please pm me!

Cheers
