Yeahhh all you need to do is recline them right back so you head is below the height of the window, put your baseball cap on backwards, then put some boom boom music on with lots of da drum n bass and you'll be ready to go..

Looking at some of the 500s around italy I think this is exactly what quite a few people do!

When I rebuilt my 500, I had the original seats reupholstered but wasn't happy with them mainly from a safety perspective. They hinged at the front but didn't lock.

I have the same worry about my seats. Did you find a fix for that or just replace them?
