My car came with the original style gear knob. Button type. Yuk. So I swapped it out for a round black cheap plastic golf ball type. It was OK, better than the original but a bit on the small size.

So, I’ve procured a larger white acrylic unit which I fitted this evening. Well made and came with 3 thread adapters one of which fitted perfectly. I like the look and will try it for the next season

So not trying to sound risqué but lets see your knob! :D

Nice! Looks kinda like a billiards cue ball, but very cool. And matches well with your interior. I have the simple black ball you used to have, which I understood was original to my 1971 L. Don’t like that mushroom style one at all.

I think the white one suits the age of the car better, plus it matches your speedo housing, steering wheel and seats. :)

I vaguely remember some 500's had a sort of flattened round white gearlever knob. But this could be just my failing memory or my memory failing :(

And, Rob, your car is just too clean (spotless actually (y) ) to even consider taking out in 'dirty' weather.

AL.

Hi Al, was worried that I've gone too white, but of course will be sat on the seats so think it will work. I'll use and see how it pans out.

Its funny how these little 500's get under your skin huh. I'm fortunate to own some other Italian hardware but this little lady is really floating my boat. She is pretty clean, but come next year, she'll be used and abused and will cover some serious milage (y)

cheers
Rob
