Or how to take your 500 on holiday without having to take it on trailer...

I have a roof tent on my 4x4 and it's great fun..... and they have been popular in Italy for over 60 years....
There has always been controversy from those who don't understand static and dynamic loads when it comes to putting stuff on a car roof.......
Well.. I found these pics... basically Maggiolina are the go to company for roof tents and these the first pics are from their 1960s History file..

a pic from a show in Italy..

and for those who may be looking for something later in life......

so no excuses now for not taking the 500 on holiday!!!
The tent is a Maggiolina Airtop

looking forward to some new Pics of Murp on holiday...

Very handy. If there's a hole in the tent floor you can do your cooking standing up. ;). As for the coffin, I was planning
to be buried in Murf but now I see a less wasteful final journey. :)

Well there is an added extra having a roof tent on a 500... no need for an outside ladder, you could simply enter/ext through the sunroof and thus improve access by having a trap door in the tent floor......
I bet there would be a way to open the tent without getting out the car too...

I think you need to get one for Murp!!

Your probably right but the trouble is that I've already got this and I've just shelled out £600 for a nice, fresh, stripey version to replace the tired, old vinyl.
