Hi all,
Has anyone had this issue on new steering for 500 where the ball joints dont fit in the tapered holes of steering and idler arms.
The new steering fits in the holes on the stub axle.
Has anyone had to ream out their tapers?

Thanks in advance.

It's a hand job, and as with all taper fits a very slight adjusment goes a long way. Small cuts and frequent trial fittings will avoid overdoing it.
(You may know this, but if you don't the part is easily ruined):)

Yes, I'm since the proud possessor of a once-used helical reamer inscribed "Dia. 15 x 6 20/N"
Hi giardini,
Im having trouble finding a reamer with your inscription. dia 15 x 6 20/n
Would you be able to confirm the taper angle degree?

I was dreading that angle question, my supplier sorts taper reamers by "conicity", this one is 10%, and a computing table in his catalog gives the corresponding angle as 5.42°.
It was quite a few years ago and I can't remember how I determined which profile was right, but this one definitely worked !
