Hey guys,

My '67 has an L dashboard and I'm considering matching the colour of the dash with the rest of the car (which is about to go in for complete body work and paint). Does anyone have any experience with painting these?

I've seen a few that look like they've had the texturing on the L dash either removed or replaced with the older steel model, but with the L speedo.

Lastly, how difficult are these to remove? I'm concerned that if I pull it apart the wiring is going to be a nightmare to get all back together.

The dash isn't in horrible condition, this would be mainly for aesthetics, so I'm not completely sold on the painting it idea and wanted to get your opinion before deciding.

As always, thanks for all your help!

If you are referring to the textured part of the dash that goes from one side to the other. Then tis is just a plastic trim.
Once you remove the steering column, switches and dash cluster, you then remove the 2 dash pads. Then the plastic dash trim comes off leaving the original steel dash that is usually painted

Thanks Frank!

It looks like I'm going to be taking her apart and see what I find. :)
