Hi guys

I am new to this forum and this is my first post but I'm sure it won't be my last as i am currently restoring a 1965 500 F RHD model, I have just got the shell back from a fresh coat of paint started piecing it back together the last couple of days, My task today was to run the cables and pipes etc down the central spine of the car, Anyway i came to do the battery cables and the new inner front panel fitted to the car has 4 holes in it where cables could potentially be routed through, I'm not sure which one the positive one should be run through and should the earth be run through one and where does the earth connect to the body ?? (our old panel had been previously damaged in this area and had lashings of fibreglass all over it) I wondered if anyone had any photos of this area or could offer any advice,

Thanks in advance (y)

Jamie

This is how I did it Jamie; three of the holes are supposed to ventilate battery gases. You can just make out where the earth cable was originally spot-welded to the panel only a short distance from the battery terminal. You could use a bolt or do as I have seen others do, which is to ground it at one of the fuel-tank mountings.
