I am considering changing the exhaust on my 500, simply because it doesn't look nice (with surface rust) compared to the condition of the car

On a 500 R with the 595 engine, what would I expect to see if I go for a twin pipe sports exhaust? Should I expect a nicer sound? I'm not going to go into the performance factor, as I am quite sure it will not make much difference! :p

Thanks

Whatever you go for, single or twin pipe, is entirely up to you--the engine will sound 'crisper' with a sports exhaust, and you might improve the performance slightly. Choose carefully--the cheap systems are cheap for a good reason! I bought a single-pipe system from MBG, by no means the cheapest on the market, but I haven't had a moments trouble with it. Don't forget to check with your supplier as to which system you need---I think that the 500R engine is a'126' engine, and the exhaust clamps and silencer are slightly different vis-a-vie 500 and 126.(y):)

Thanks for the info.... yes, I have the 595 engine.... The exhaust mountings and manifold mounting is slightly different.... but there are many available for sale at very reasonable prices (ranging from GBP120 - GBP150)

There's nothing actually wrong with my standard exhaust other than the fact that its all pitted and looks ugly
