I think that trying to make your own 'one-of' wish-bone assembly could work out more expensive than buying one of the commercial set-ups--it is not quite as simple as it looks. Even the alignment of where the wishbones pivot can be quite critical. I have tried 3 times to answer this question, but each time it got 'lost' as I tried to put it onto the Forum---possibly because I put a couple of commercial addresses on it.
Contact me directly ([email protected]) and I will pass those address onto you--they may prove beneficial.
If you want to see how to REALLY go to town on 500 suspension (racing), watch:-'come nasce una fiat 500 da competizione-non solo motori rr'---just to be nosey, I would love to know how much that set-up cost him!
Hi Andrew did you also alter the the rear suspension method or just did away with the normal spring and do you have to strenghten the mountings for the shocks. Thanks Bryan
If you do a search (see green bar at top of page) and put in the word diluppo you will find a thread by a member here 'diluppo' from Venezuela which covered a Fiat Abarth 600 (Replica) which he constructed. It was a fantastic project, covered in great detail by a very competent, resourceful engineer.
It included fabrication of new independent front suspension and iirc rear suspension plus lots of other mods. Although this was on a 600, much would be relevant to a 500.
What fabulous work from diluppo .What can I say just that he must be well taught by his father. These are some of the mods I would like to do just not quite as radical. His fabrication working is A1. :worship::worship:
