Does anyone smoke in cars anymore? Is the ashtray redundant?

Has anyone thought of anything ingenious to do with the hole?

PS: I have just restored my ashtray, so if no-one has a better idea, I'll just put it back.

It appears that there is a radio you can buy that fits the slot.
I'm going to fit USB sockets inside mine. I also spare spare fuses and the tiny dashboard bulbs.

There is a radio made for the 500 called an Autovox Piper RC222
I have several they are very sweet looking things! Cost about 50 pounds.
Obviously being made in the 1960's means it's kinda hopeless so several firms remove internals and put a DAB and MP3 input
