So a small update. My dynamo bearings started making noise. It was mainly the rear bearing towards the engine bridge.

I ordered replacement bearings from Mr Fiat in the US. The rear bearing was correct, but the front bearing did not have the dust shields and was completely open to debris introduction.

I ordered the correct bearing from Van der lann. I am in the process of cleaning the windings and replacing the aluminum rivets on the front portion of the dynamo because of the bearing replacement.

Ok so dun dun dunnnn, an update. The dynamo bracket was broke and had to buy at Van der Laand. I got it all back together and the starter failed. I ordered a starter from Van der Laan and installed it. She is running well now. Btw Me Fiat wanted $350 for a starter and Van der Laand wanted $154 with a core replacement.

Ciao Luxe,

been following your recent troubles. I've had my fare share since she arrived!

Are you managing to find any parts in the US? I've found a few things on Amazon and also on RockAuto (if you look for earlier 500s). Was curious about the coil as well!

Ciao,

Mr. fiat in Georgia is where I located parts from.

Their website: http://mrfiat.com/

Some things I could not find like the correct dynamo bearings and a dynamo mount I got from Van der Laan in the Netherlands.

Just tell him you do not need registered mail and you pay nine or so dollars for shipping and tjeir english is good.

Looks great. I really like the white wheels. I have the add on white wall inserts but they are starting to damage the sidewall of the tyre so when I get my car back from the panel shop I will copy you.

Who knows even though my colour choice is to go back to the original antique Ivory, I am still having trouble convincing my kids so maybe my bright yellow car will become a lighter shade of pale and your car can have a doppelgänger in Australia.

Did you use a Fiat colour or just select the colour out of a catalogue?

Cheers
Geoff
I had the whitewall inserts on too but they quickly yellowed and were starting to squeak.so Off they came, they too were starting to wear the tyres. Nasty things. I am thinking about painting them but the machine is 3000$Aus. The paint applicator is 200$ Aus. So I will try and make the applicator if not I will paint the wheels white as well.
