I had an intermittently faulty exterior light toggle switch, so I decided to replace all three. I ordered 2, 3, 4 pole switches from van de laan. It turns out that the three pole one doesn't have the correct wiring.
The existing switch takes an input and when the switched is toggled down, this input is fed to the two other poles. The new switch takes an input and feeds it to one pole when the switch is up and the switches the input to the other when the switch is down.
Does anyone know of a source of switches where the 3 pole one has the correct wiring?
Failing that, I'll look at the wiring diagram again and see if the two lights circuits can be joined on to a single pole without any adverse affect.
Thanks
Steve
