Hi guys,

Hope everyone is well?

Quick one, I'm struggling to source some replacement front seat belts for mine, and I seem to remember reading somewhere that the static ones are the same as the old minis.

Is this true?

Any guidance on that or where to find some genuine 500 belts here in the UK would be great.

Thanks guys.

You might have some trouble finding genuine seat belts for the 500 because the vehicle was never manufactured with them. The vehicle ceased production before seat belts became mandatory by Italian law.

I believe we have had this thread before somewhere but I can't find the it. UK regs said all cars from 65 onwards needed anchorage points provided and then from 68 they required 3 point belts fitting, so any 500's imported into the UK were provided with belts for the UK market on manufacture from 68.

If you want static belts rather than inertia reel you can get them from some of the 500 parts places in Holland.

Yeah the ones I've found on them sites work out about £60 a pair, but I'm 90% sure I've read somewhere that the original mini ones fit and you can pick them up for £30 max. Just not 100% about it.

Ok I have found a set online for a Mini that gives the lengths of the 3 point ones.

I have an old set in the garage that I can measure for you but you may want to measure your old ones. The long bit that attaches to the top and bottom of the B post is 220cm long and the buckle bit that attaches to the floor by the tunnel can adjust upto 47cm.

I am pretty sure the bolt size is universal but don't quote me on this? Maybe someone else can confirm?

Tony
