Hi not sure when this post is from,did you cure the problem. Mine was doing the same after a very humid garage(got flooded)eventually after everything I changed the coil and leads and that cured the problem

I had the same problem after i rebuilt my carb ,it would idle at high revs and couldnt lower it. I found by just by just slacking it off i could get it down
