Hi from Greece!
I am currently restoring my Fiat 500 L 1971 transmition.
After the renewal of 4 bearings the gearbox is in perfect condition.
But the changing of 2 bearings at the differential wasn't so successful!
I replaced the old Italian bearings with new Polish (this was the only available option) and tried to follow the directions and adjustments given in the "Fiat 500 1957-73 Workshop Manual" but something went wrong:bang:.
When I tested the car I had loud noise coming from the differential bearings rotation.
I will very much appreciate any help and advice especially on the differential preloading and adjustment procedure !!
