Hi guys
I am well into my restoration on my 1972 500L and am just finishing the interior, I am looking for an ignition switch, the car is a right hand drive with a column switch the switch is missing and a flick switch has been fitted under the dash, does anybody know where I might be able to get hold of one or can any other switches be modified to fit,

Also can anybody give me an idiots guide to posting photos on the forum I am not really a Bill Gates.

Is it the same as the ignition switch on the 126?

This is a 126 ignition switch. If this is it, have a look on eBay.

Thanks for the reply, It does not look like the 126 switch, the switch screws onto the aluminium housing with two screws, it is difficult to tell what it looks like as it is missing.

Hi Ian,
Try to post a photo or two. All the information I have suggests that the ignition switch in the 500L is mounted on the fascia/dash not the column, so I'm stumped.

The switch itself looks standard enough - I wonder if a half decent locksmith could fit a new one into the housing for you ??
