Greetings to all forum members(and their 500's!)
I am in the process of rebuilding my mum's old 500, which has sat in the garage for 30 odd years, thought about daily but unloved.
This is my first project where I am going so far as welding in a new cross member, and would be grateful for some guidance!
And this is the task in hand. As you can see it was previously spot welded. I drilled these out so the old member came off. Then i thought it would be easier to drill through each spot (4mm bit), butt the new member up underneath, then weld a small pool in each from inside the car. Is this the correct way of going about it? And what kind of weld settings would be best (hobby MIG)?
Any help much appreciated!
Ryan
