Hey there Joe in NY. This is Steve in NY! Lol. Glad you're on this forum. Lots of great info and everyone is very eager to help.
Pics of my 1970 Fiat 500F recently restored. Working on getting the proper front emblem on now.

My 1966 500F is on the boat and headed to her new home on the west coast. I've had her for about a year here in Italy. Also on the packup: spare tires, motor, gearbox, and misc parts. I'm going to do a full up resto on her eventually, even though it was locally restored about 4 years ago. There are some minor issues and things I want to fix/cleanup.

We'll see how she handles the AZ desert though. I reckon she'll be parked a good portion of the summer. Air cooling and lack of A/C when it's >100 outside. At least she won't rust awaiting a resto.

Good Evening,

Santa brought us a 1970 Fiat 500 L. It has been modified, but to what extent I am uncertain, does have a 650 motor. At the moment does not run, has been off the road since 2007.

I do not speak Fiat, am groping towards understanding.

Tires are a concern, the four Michelins on the car are rotted but it came with three new Debica 135 R 12, I have, so far, been unable to locate a fourth.
Cannot find Pirelli or Michelin 12 inch tires in USA

Restoring the fuel system from tank to carburetor, replacing stuff as needs. First step in getting it running.

I don't yet know enough to ask the right questions.

Thanks to all

Hello everyone we just got our first cinquecento and can't wait to take her back to the states. But we are going to have to stay in Italy for a few more years:)

Hi,
Just joined today! :slayer:
I own a 1971 Fiat 500L :worship:
I bought it in Italy in 2003, and had it shipped to the Seattle area then
I'm not mechanically inclined by any means :bang: but I'm eager to learn (y)
I'm part of a Fiat club here in the Seattle area called Fiat Enthusiasts Northwest. They're a pretty cool bunch of people :woot:
I'ved made it a point to really enjoy my chinquecento, drive it more often and maintain it better this year.
Wish me luck!

PS tips and ideas are always welcomed! :yeahthat:

I just purchased my first Fiat, a 1968 Fiat 500F last week. So far it has been a blast.

What's it cost to import from Europe now a days? I imported my 1966 500 in 1994 for around $600 from Rotterdam to Newark, NJ. I think the shipment cost about as much as the car at that time.

Unfortunately it's been off the road since 1995 in storage and now needs tons of TLC, tires rotted, oil gasket leaked/gone and probably a good general overhaul due to my neglect.

I'd love to be able to devote time to this passion again and have it to drive around.

I am in Portsmouth, NH, but my baby is in storage near Pittsburgh, PA. :(

Here I thought I had the only 500 in Mississippi and I find out there's another one nearby. Mine is a '58, the other one is about a '71-'73. I'm going to have to go introduce myself one of these days.

I drove my '75 500R in Italy for a year, then shipped it back to MA last Fall where it got an upgrade from a Weber 24 to a Weber 28 courtesy of Marcus550. Recently had an exciting 2500 mile journey towing it out to Bozeman, MT, where it will be putting around town for the next few years.

Hey y'all I just bought a 1972 Fiat 500L and I live about an hour north of New Orleans,LA. Does anyone know where to get original parts online? I need a front bumper and a steering wheel.:D

Morning "Startreck", welcome to the family. Try 'Mr Fiat' first--they are based in Atlanta and seem to be the main (if not only) supplier of fiat 500 parts in the USA. If they cannot supply what you want, contact me direct and I will supply you with a list of the best suppliers on the European continent--there are a lot, but I always believe that it is best to try and establish a good relationship with your 'local' first, if you can---a case of 'use them or lose them'

Here are a few more pics from the Atlanta Concours d'elegance. I found out later the guy in the Yellow Ferrari was upset that everyone was looking at the Fiat rather than his car, lol.
