Hi all. Just got a 500 and don't have my Haynes manual in yet, so I got a basic question. Whe attempting to start today, heard the cable snap from the startler lever, because my wife pulled up to hard. Not sure if the cable snapped or it just disconnected. I took off the center console plastic piece best I could but it was hung up on the emergency brake lever. I noticed a bolt by the choke and starter levers, is this how I would access underneath the starter level and have access to the cable...any help and pointers are appricieated.

Hi Ach and welcome to the forum(y)

Theres four bolts surrounding the starter and choke cable levers, its just a case of undoing them it then lifts out.
If the cable is not broken and has just gone slack, theres a small plastic retaining clip underneath the car to the rear (on one of the heater channels) that seems to be a favorite for snapping off - it may be worth checking this first.
Let us know how you get on:)

P.S. theres an online manual link at the top of the classic 500 section.

I feel very welcome here...thank you for the info. After work I had some time to investigate, and thankfully the cotter pin holding the cable to the starter lever mechanism in the engine compartment gave way. So it was a quick and easy fix.
