General 126 from poland?

What year is the 126? You need to be careful that it is OK for the emissions part of the MOT test in the UK, I'm not sure that any of the late 126's will pass.

Personally, whilst I love the twin, I would hang on to a Panda 4x4 in preference to a 126, its a fantastic little car.

Its August 1992 that CATs became compulsory on new cars in the UK, the 126 didnt get one till very late on, around 1998 ish? However, the CAT fitted on the 126 is a 2 way CAT and will never pass a UK MOT, a German company imported late 126s into Germany in the late 90s as cheap transport, and they had to get CATs made especially for them in Sweden.
Also, the late ones have ECUs etc and are a nightmare Jim.

Wow...... I've learnt something today!

Oh good, the last aircooled sold here were in 1987, theres a few registered on E plates when the BIS came out. An 88 will be basically what we had here at the end, a good little model of 126 Jim.
The later ones are my favourites, they have steering racks instead of boxes which improves the feel no end and the bigger bumpers which give them a chunky look. Some Polish ones have the slimmer bumpers like the Devilles etc... you can tell if they should have big bumpers as the holes will be blanked off front and rear with bungs:)
Good luck with it Jim, youll love the 126 as its just the most funny car to own/drive and rarer than a 500 and Panda too.
