Sounds like your problem may well be fuel related.

I note you cleaned out the fuel tank and lines but what about the carburettor?

It sounds like there may be some contamination in the float bowl which is getting sucked into the main jet when you open the throttle quickly.

Looks like you got a good deal there. We had a tough time getting the 500 titled in VA. If you hit a wall, there are companies in Vegas that will buy the car from you and then sell it back with a certificate of title from Alabama or another no title state (prior to early 70's).

Considering the car sat so long the mechanical spark advance might be stuck. Pull the cap and rotor, oil the distributor, and make sure the weights and springs are free.
There is also a hole on the side of the distributor to oil the shaft.
