Technical Rear shock replacement

Hi all, ive not physically looked yet, but am gonna change the rear shocks on my Bis/FIRE 999cc project car. According to the manual you need to unbolt the whole wishbone assembly to remove the shock. On other cars it usual to just remove the nuts and lower the arm enough to remove the shock....is this the case? Cheers:slayer:

The shock on the BIS has a different bottom mounting to the aircooled that goes in from the side (as opposed to the air cooled nut type) and I think it was revised because of the heavier rear end. I can't exactly remember but I think the BIS shock won't slide through that hole but you won't need to unbolt the arm. I just undo the shock bolt, loosen the bolts that hold the arm in and yank the lot down as far as possible and the shock and spring comes out nice enough through the big gap

In the end it was rather easy (yet fiddly). I took off the shock top nuts, pushed the shocks down throught the floor then jacked up the car and managed to replace the rubbers by fiddling between the coils of the spring, (didnt even need to remove the wheels). I then lowered the car and pulled the shock back up with a pair of long nose pliers and replaced the top bushes and nuts! Easy. Not many cars you can do that with!
