Has anyone put the fuel tank out of a 500 in the front of a 126?

If so are there any issues in doing so?

I'd say it was a bad move because although that is one of the unique features that helps make the 500 so endearing, it's also one of the most potentially dangerous ones. As if having no more front end strength than a baked bean can wasn't enough, the crumple zone over your legs is filled with petrol
You've got me thinking though, I wonder if I could do the opposite??

Unfortunately this is the only space i have.
If i was as worried as you about the tank position i would never attempt to put 300hp+ into my car.
Compromises have to be made....i accept that.

Much stronger race bred "fuel cells" can be bought if safety is a concern. I
Must admit I wouldn't want all that fuel sitting right over my legs in a 300bhp 126

Nah, Im happy to chance it with OEM stuff ;)
