mrfiat<dot>com; search :"Fiat 500 5 Speed Conversion Kit"

I have seen this kit on other sites and I was wondering, has anyone actually installed it on their 126 and if so how much does it actually increase top speed?

Thanks!(y)

sorry about the hyperlink, too few posts:bang:

It seems like it is a total headache sadly. Machining required and the instructions that are sent with it are very weak(what several people said lots of this-->:bang:).

Another though I had was fitting an entirely different gearbox up to it. I have a feeling there is a problem with that but I don't know enough about it to continue with the thought.:(

From what I read some of the selector forks have to be shaved down to make way for the fifth fork and modification to reverse fork as well.
Also I believe that a pilot bearing has to be shortened to meet correct fitment with your gearbox. And the gear linkage has to be shortened by ~30mm.

There are a few other things to do with the gear lever, but I wasn't entirely sure what they were modifying it or if they were just purchasing new parts that would work with the setup.

Well apparently the kit manufacturers neglect to mention that until it shows up with instructions that one must employ or be a machinist to carry out the installation.
But I have heard that the people that finally complete them are very happy with the end product. i.e. lower revs at Highway speeds of around 70 mph - 113 kph, and better economy as well.:slayer:
