i have recently purchased a nice little 126 as my first car. i just wondered if anyone could explain some checks i can carry out on the sills and bodywork, there isn't any major corrosion just superficial wear and tear. is there anything i should be looking for like any problem areas that i should check? i read that the sills could rot from the inside out is there a way for me to check this? also do any of you have any pointers for the mot are there any things i should look over engine wise before i put it in? the car runs nicely and doesnt seem to have any major faults i just wondered if theres anything i should start with before i go spending money on mots. where would i have to look to find the VIN numbers? id like to check theyre matching my documents. does anyone on here have experience with changing from polish to uk plates??

MOT wise the headlights are usually a pain the lenses are notorious for failing by giving a poor image but you won't know till you try on that one,

Emissions are also a common issue I've found running on premium fuel for the test can help other than that just good old fashion tuning should get it through

Also the brakes are a usual bug bear but unless you can see or feel an issue with them you won't know until it's tested

But that's just my experience & every car is different even if they rolled off the assembly line at the same time
